[Apple Watch How-To] Find The Heart Rate Monitor and How to Use it

If you are a new owner of Apple Watch, I guess one of the many features you would like to give it a try is the heart rate monitor. At least that's what I was looking for when I first open and use my Apple Watch.

Based on my own experience, the Apple Watch with WatchOS 1.0 is not so simple and not so easy to use. Took some time for me to really acknowledge, oh that's how this works.
The heart rate monitor is one of the feature that is somehow "hidden" for me, because there is no icon, no settings, no tutorial, simply there is nothing that showing the heart rate monitor existence except the fact that the bottom part of my watch has the sensors.

So for those of you who like to use the heart rate monitor, here is how you can use it:
1. Turn on the Apple Watch and unlock it if it's locked
2. Slide up (from bottom to up), to open the watch glances

3. Depends on your setting, but by default Heart Rate monitor is located on the 3rd glance, so when you open glances and you are on the very left most position, slide to the left 2 times to open the 3rd glance: the heart rate monitor.

Now you find the heart rate monitor, here is how to use them:
1. Simply put the watch on your wrist, either left or right hand
2. Open the heart rate monitor and let it work for you. It will light the green bright light to check your heart rate and return the result in BPM.

And if you don't know yet, Apple Watch is monitoring your heart rate every hour while you are using the watch.

So, how many BPM your heart rate is?
Mine is quite small, only 61 BPM - measures taken at night before sleep.
